Marc van Gerven

 HeftMate was conceived from the idea of Marc van Gerven. Marc has been a piano specialist since 1978. Within the family business, Pianohandel J. van Gerven en Zn., he has been involved in the repair, maintenance, and restoration as well as the sale of pianos and grand pianos. Due to decades of lifting and transporting pianos and grand pianos, Marc has been dealing with knee injuries and severe wear and tear in his knee joints for quite some time.   

The idea for HeftMate arose when Marc couldn't find a piano lift that met his requirements. Consequently, he invented one for his own use initially. After receiving enthusiastic feedback from colleagues, Marc decided to have his piano lift produced in small batches. That's how HeftMate came into existence.   

Since then, he hasn't lifted a single piano.
